This is how OH, a potato! — the app for food waste — helps you waste less food

The app-for-food-waste that turns fridge randomness into real meals. Scan what you’ve got, save what you crave, and actually eat what you buy. Wild concept, I know.

FRIDGE / PANTRY SCANNER & RECIPE SUGGESTIONS

What it is:
Snap a photo or list what’s in your fridge or pantry — I’ll turn it into dinner.

How it works:
Take a few photos of your fridge and pantry. I’ll instantly suggest meals that use what you’ve already got.

Why it’s useful:
You know that “nothing to eat” feeling? It’s a lie. You’ve got dinner in there — you just can’t see it. I can. Say goodbye to food waste (and sad fridge staring).

SAVE ALL YOUR RECIPES IN ONE PLACE

What it is:
A recipe hoarder's dream. Save anything: TikTok and Instagram reels, screenshots, text, websites, YouTube vids or scan your cookbooks.

How it works:
Just copy-paste links or scan cookbooks with your camera. I'll extract and save the important bits.

Why it’s useful:
No more “where did I see that recipe?” spiral. If you saved it, I’ve got it. And saved recipes don’t just sit there. I’ll suggest them when you’ve got the right ingredients.

REEL & VIDEO COOKING STEPS INSIDE THE APP

What it is:
Your saved TikToks and recipe videos, playable right inside the app — no switching back and forth. You’ll see the video, ingredients, and steps all in one place, side by side, so you can watch and cook without missing a beat (or a garlic clove).

How it works:
Just import reels and videos like you already do — and now you can play them inside the app.

Why it’s useful:
No excuses left. If you can scroll TikTok, you can cook. Trying viral recipes is now as easy as watching them — even for the “I can’t cook” crew.

BROWSE FOR NEW RECIPES (INSIDE THE APP)

What it is:
A recipe search engine built for cravings and chaos. Search for what you want to eat — not just what an app thinks you should.

How it works:
Type in anything: “carbonara,” “slow cooker beef roast,” “chocolate brownie.” Or search by ingredients like “pork mince” or “salmon.” I’ll pull real recipes from real cooks across the internet — not some recycled database. Found something? Add it to your plan in one tap.

Why it’s useful:
Dinner ideas, actually on demand. Whether you’re hungry now or planning ahead, you’ll get variety, speed, and stuff you actually want to cook. No more doomscrolling food blogs. Just vibes and good meals.

WEEKLY MEAL PLANNER AND POTATO TAMAGOTCHI

What it is:
Plan your week. Stick to it weekly. Watch your potato evolve from spud to cosmic overlord.

How it works:
Pick a few meals for the week (from saved recipes, fridge finds, or new ideas). Get a grocery list. Unlock new potato forms as you cook. Yes, there are outfits.

Why it’s useful:
You’ll actually stick to your plan. Not because you’re disciplined — because you want to see what kind of cursed potato I turn into next.

AUTOMATED GROCERY LIST

What it is:
A smart shopping list that shows you exactly what to buy — nothing extra, nothing forgotten. Just the stuff you need, all in one place.

How it works:
Add meals to your plan. I’ll instantly show you what you’re missing — and let you uncheck stuff you already have (yes, salt counts). Need snacks? Toilet paper? You can manually add anything to the list. I’ll sort it by aisle and combine quantities so you don’t end up with four half-used bags of shredded cheese again.

Why it’s useful:
Faster, cleaner, no chaos shopping. You’ll walk in with a list. You’ll walk out with exactly what you need. No rage meltdowns in the condiment aisle.

SHARED HOUSEHOLD PLANNING AND GROCERY LIST

What it is:
One app. One inventory. One meal plan. One grocery list.

How it works:
Create a household and share your inventory, meal plan and grocery list with whoever you live (or bicker) with. Everyone sees the same info. No more duplicate garlics. Or forgotten garlics.

Why it’s useful:
End the “What’s for dinner?” Cold War. Teamwork makes the dinner work. And maybe you’ll stop fighting about who forgot to defrost the chicken.

Too soon for the app? Try out our grocery shopping checklist for smarter store trips. And see how a household of two used the app-for-food-waste to cut waste and stay fed. Real tips. Real savings. Real potatoes.
